The conference was jointly organized by the Department of Economics and Finance, Shue Yan University and the Chinese Hayek Society, in conjunction with Department of Economics, Feng Chia University (Taiwan), Department of Economics, National Tsing Hua University (Taiwan), Department of Sociology and Department of Business Administration, both of Hong Kong Shue Yan University.

The event brought together scholars and speakers from a wide range of disciplines such as economics, sociology, business management, psychology, law and politics under a common theme: “The Relevance of F.A. Hayek on China’s Economy and Society”. More importantly, the conference provided an opportunity for scholars from mainland China and Taiwan to exchange their views. The success of the event was evident in the positive feedbacks from conference delegates.

The conference papers are collected in the proceedings in the form of CD-ROM. It is envisaged that best papers from the conference will be selected and edited into a book volume published by Hong Kong Shue Yan University and the Chinese F.A. Hayek Society.
